DESIGN PILOT ACTIVITIES & GOALS
1. Participation in Learning Collaborative
Pilots will participate in an expertly facilitated Learning Collaborative to share best practices, lessons learned, and to collaborate on shared challenges and opportunities. Proof points, successes, and lessons learned will be elevated and amplified from this Learning Collaborative and utilized to co-construct a state-level Child Success Model Strategy.
2. Community Specific Scenarios of Client Journeys during the first 1,000 Days:
Pilots will work to develop community-specific scenarios of client journeys during the first 1,000 days of life. These scenarios will be based on real-world experiences and should help to identify key touchpoints, opportunities for intervention, and areas for improvement. Examples should be from your community and look to services inclusive of the first 1,000 days (e.g., Perinatal Home Visiting System; utilization of the CCO social-emotional metric asset mapping of your community's strengths for children and their family; specific program involvement that collectively raises up a family from roadblocks such as addiction, housing, health issues, or access to resources for success.)
3. Development of Child Success Models
Pilots will work to develop a comprehensive Child Success Model that outlines the key components in response to Community Specific scenarios. The models will include the roles and responsibilities of cross-sector partners, activities and strategies for their implementation, proposed methods of evaluation and ongoing continuous improvement, and explicit connections to other efforts already in motion (i.e., Raise Up Oregon, System-Level Social Emotional Metric, Home Visiting System Development.)
4. Budget and Narrative for 5-year Implementation
Pilots will work to develop a detailed budget and budget narrative for the 5-year implementation of the Child Success Model. This will include a breakdown of expenses, sources of funding, and a description of how the funding will be used to support the implementation of the model.
5. Legislation and Funding Recommendations
Using learnings from their communities, Design Pilots will help The Collaborative develop concepts for legislation and funding needed to implement and scale the Child Success Model for the first 1,000 days of life statewide.
